Year 5

Pupils will develop   knowledge and skills through the study of geographical questions.

They will learn to   use atlases, globes and maps as well as develop field work skills through   their topic of ‘Survival.’ Through their termly topics they will study the theme of rivers and a unit on   South America and Europe. A residential visit to Standon Bowers will allow   for a variety of practical and field work activities.

Year 6

Pupils will develop   knowledge and skills through the study of geographical questions. They will   use a variety of atlases, globes and maps and learn to use scale, grid   references and keys to locate places and landmarks. . Through our termly topics pupils will study   The continents of Africa, North America, volcanoes and earthquakes. A visit to Ironbridge will allow for   practical and field work activities concerned with environmental issues and   concerns.

Year 7

Geography

Geographical   enquiry skills, knowledge and understanding are developed through the study   of Asia and globalisation.

Citizenship is also   explored in these topics.

Year 8

Geography

Pupils   will develop knowledge and skills through the study of geographical   questions. They will use a wide variety of atlases, globes and maps as well   as develop their field work skills. Pupils will use ICT to research and   present information and data. They will study the themes of deserts, the   Middle East, changing climate and Russia.
