On entry to Brewood CE (C) Middle School, all pupils are placed into one of four Houses; Chillington (yellow), Somerford (red), Stretton (green) and Weston (blue).
During the academic year there are House sporting events that take place and all pupils compete in these events.
|Football (boys)||Cross Country (all)||Athletics (all)|
|Netball (girls)||Rounders (all)|
Each House is led by a senior member of staff and 4 selected House captains from the current year 8 pupils, 2 male and 2 female pupils per House.
House captains have a variety of roles to include organising and officiating events, leadership activities throughout the calendar and are instrumental during national School Sports week and Sports Day.
In addition to organised events, pupils can earn House points throughout the school year. House points can be earned during Physical Education lessons for a variety of reasons at the teachers' discretion; examples of ways points can be earned are;
• Excellent contributions in lessons.
• Helping to organise equipment.
• Leading a warm up.
• Superb effort or achievement.
• Helping others.
At the end of the academic year the House with the most points will win The Croft Cup and receive an appropriate reward.
There are plans to extend the range of House competitions to include others aspects of the curriculum, for example, music or art.
